 2018 Preview

Victory Christian completed the 2017 season with a 5-5 record. Last year Victory Christian just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 1A region four with a 2-4 region record.

Since 2010, the Victory Christian football program has struggled with a record of 23-56.

Over the past 18 seasons, Victory Christian has not won much with a record of 60-120. Their 33.0% winning percentage ranks 51st in Class 1A and 323rd in the AHSAA.

The Lions will be under the direction of new head football coach Mark Holliday as they enter the 2018 season.

Coach Holliday's overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 5-5 (50.0%).

The Victory Christian Lions will play in Class 1A region five during the 2018 season. Following realignment, the Lions remain in 1A but move from region four over to region five.

With a little luck and some improvement, the Lions could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region five this season. Victory Christian missed the playoffs the past couple of seasons but hope to return to the post season in 2018.

The Lions open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent Fayetteville on Friday, August 31 at FarmLinks Field. Last year the Fayetteville Wolves finished with an overall record of 1-9 and in eighth place in Class 2A region five. The Wolves closed out the regular season with a loss to B.B. Comer by a score of 42-34.

Victory Christian and Fayetteville have met a total of 8 times on the football field. The Lions have a 5-3-0 record against the Wolves. They last met in 2009 with Victory Christian winning by a score of 42-0.
